Now the most commonly performed non-surgical procedure in the world, treatment with BOTOX® Cosmetic is quick, virtually painless, and astoundingly effective. BOTOX® is used to treat dynamic wrinkles. These are wrinkles that appear between your brows which actually result from muscle movement and the passage of time. Three muscles are largely responsible for frown lines between the brows and when those muscles contract, they draw the brows together. As skin becomes less elastic over time, repeated frowning can result in those moderate to severe lines between the brows. This anti-aging phenomenon works on anyone. What Is BOTOX®?BOTOX® Cosmetic is the brand name for botulinum toxin, a protein which temporarily blocks nerve signals to muscles, allowing them to relax. BOTOX® Cosmetic has been used in medicine for decades for the treatment of twitching muscle disorders, tics, and certain forms of headache. As a cosmetic treatment, BOTOX® Cosmetic is used to relax the dynamic muscles of the face, which lead to furrows, wrinkles, or scowling. BOTOX® is also an effective treatment for severe underarm sweating, aka axillary hyperhidrosis, where it functions to block the nerve signals that stimulate glands responsible for sweat production.
BOTOX® Cosmetic is injected using a very small needle, and is only slightly uncomfortable. There is generally no down time. Typical treatment areas include the forehead, brow, crow's feet area, nose, underarms and sometimes lips, neck, hands, and feet.
What Is The Difference Between BOTOX® Cosmetic and fillers?
Frown lines are caused by overactive facial muscles. Fillers mask the wrinkle by adding volume around the muscle with intradermal injections. BOTOX® Cosmetic is intramuscular, blocking the chemicals that cause facial muscles to contract, thereby relaxing them. While there are many options available for fillers, BOTOX® Cosmetic is the only product of its type that affects the muscles that cause these wrinkles.

How Soon Will I See Results?

What Are The Side Effects?
Just like any injection, you may experience mild irritation, swelling, itching, redness, bruising or tenderness at the injection site. Most side effects of treatment resolve within a few days. More rare side effects may include swelling that lasts longer, unevenness or firmness in the area injected, and as with any injection, there may be a risk of infection. If any of these side effects persist, contact your healthcare provider immediately.

What is a KDC Signature Medical Facial?
A Medical Facial is different than the facial you get at a typical spa. These facials are done in a medical setting and incorporate a variety of sophisticated techniques to dramatically enhance the penetration of rejuvenating retinoids or antioxidants into the skin in a controlled fashion, effectively jumpstarting the rejuvenation of damaged skin.
At KDC, we use iontophoresis and sonophoresis for our Medical Facials. Iontophoresis is pulsed galvanic current, and sonophoresis is low-intensity (out of our hearing range) sound waves. Both techniques serve to temporarily lessen the barrier aspects of the skin, and allow for much greater (several thousand-fold) penetration of healing products into the skin. The extra influx of these medical agents help stimulate skin cells to work normally, while collagen and elastin production is dramatically turned on.
This procedure is quite comfortable, and involves a soothing facemask. Many patients fall asleep during the procedure. Often redness from sunburn can be immediately soothed by a single Medical Facial treatment!
